Keld is a small village situated in a very remote part of the Yorkshire Dales on the border between North Yorkshire and County Durham. It is to be found on the junction of two long distance paths - The Coast to Coast Path from St Bees Head on the West Coast across to Robin Hood’s Bay in the East and the more well known Pennine Way.

Keld Resource Centre is a community based company with charitable status pending and is developing historically significant vernacular buildings in the village for public benefit; its main activities include.

· Preserving the historic buildings and demonstrating the rural heritage of Swaledale.
· Working to benefit the residents of the rural community.
· Educating the public in the appreciation, conservation, protection and improvement of the physical and natural environment of Swaledale and the history of Yorkshire Dales.

We are an independent organisation that works closely with partners; these include the United Reformed Church who own many of the buildings in Keld, the Methodist and Anglican Churches. We manage the former Keld Manse which adjoins the beautiful chapel of Keld URC.

This website describes more about our work and includes photographs of this special part of England.
In 2010 we expect to open a visitor centre, if you are passing through we would be delighted to see your name in our visitors book.
